Oversized Load Permit - City of Woodstock ($250 /per application)

An Oversize/Overweight Load - Trip Permit (OO Trip) is required for the transportation of a load(s) that exceeds the limits prescribed in the Highway Traffic Act (HTA), on a specific day(s), on a specific route, that is not already allowed for by a current Oversize/Overweight Load - Annual Permit (OO Annual).

Right of Way Permit - Occupancy/Encroachment - City of Woodstock ($350 /per application)

A Road Occupancy Permit relates to any activity that results in traffic disruption, including bins, materials and equipment blocking lanes. Drawings are to be in compliance with the Ontario Traffic Manual (OTM).
Please submit a Road Occupancy / Access Permit Application if you require access onto a city property (for example, refacing a building, installing signage, accessing a utility manhole).

Application Requirements

The following documentation must accompany your application. Please refer to the back of the application form for a detailed list of general conditions and requirements.

  • WSIB certificate showing type of work being performed is covered
  • Insurance certificate in the amount of $5 million identifying the Corporation of the City of Woodstock as third party insured from the commencement of work until the date of completion. Coverage must consist of comprehensive policy of public liability, and property damage insured for the work
  • A traffic control plan as per the Ontario Traffic Control Manual, Book 7, Temporary Conditions latest revision. 

Please allow one to two weeks to review and process the application, and follow up if necessary to clarify any uncertainties.

Right of Way Permit - Street Municipal Consent - City of Woodstock ($125 /per application)

Municipal Consent is the municipality’s authorization for a utility to occupy a specific location(s) within the municipalities right-of-way. Municipal Consent will only be issued to utility companies, commissions, agencies, other municipalities, or private applicants who have a municipal access agreement with the municipality applied to. The project of adding or modifying the plant is often subject to a Work in Right-of-Way permit.

Right of Way Permit - Surface and Underground - City of Woodstock ($350 /per application)

A Road Cut Permit relates to any activity that involves the cutting, excavation, boring, filling, additions, or altering in any way, roadways, curbs, sidewalks, boulevards, ditches, trails, and other areas within the right-of-way. Drawings are to be in compliance with the Ontario Traffic Manual (OTM).

Road Entrance Permit - City of Woodstock

A Road Entrance permit is required to add or reclassify a permanent or temporary road entrance at a specific location. The project of adding or modifying the road entrance may be subject to a Work in Right-of-Way permit that is associated with the Road Entrance permit.
